Duties
Working in the Procurement Section of the General Services Office and under the guidance of the Procurement Supervisor, the incumbent applies a complex body of Federal Acquisition Regulations to procure a wide variety of supplies and services locally and on-line. Confirms details of requirement with requester, through research determines appropriate source, makes and documents purchase, assures delivery and prompt payment of vendor. Has U.S. Government Purchase Card authority up to $3,500 per purchase.

- Requirements:
- EXPERIENCE:
Two years experience with procurement and/or contracting is required.
Must have held a driver’s license for five years (Class B).
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Must have good working knowledge of the city and environs, including an understanding of local markets and suppliers for various goods, including driving routes and traffic patterns. Good working knowledge of procurement and purchasing practices and ethics.

- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Evaluations:
- LANGUAGE: Good Working Knowledge in English, French, Bambara is required– Good vocabulary and understanding of grammar and able to construct sentences. Able to use English, French, Bambara as part of normal work duties including having conversations with customers and answer questions.
This may be tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The incumbent is required to have the skills needed to work successfully with the requester and the vendor to assure that both parties are satisfied with the final agreement. Must demonstrate good judgement to successfully negotiate with vendors over price, quality, or other terms of the transaction.
Must have a valid Class B driver’s license. Must be able to perform daily vehicle inspections. Must have ability to read road maps and plan routes.
