Duties
The Health Unit Administrative Assistant greets all patients entering the Health Unit, prepares and maintains all medical records in accordance with patient confidentiality standards, and organizes the Health Unit calendar. The Administrative Assistant assists with and accompanies patients for visits to local medical facilities and provides translation of medical documents. She/he procures and replenishes office supplies needed for efficient function of the Health Unit.
Qualifications and Evaluations
- Requirements:
- EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years of office administration experience.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Basic knowledge and familiarity with host country medical structure.

- Completion of two years of college/university studies is required.

English – Good working knowledge is required
Good vocabulary and understanding of grammar and able to construct sentences. Able to use English as part of normal work duties including having conversations with customers and answer questions. This may be tested.
French – Good working Knowledge is required
Good vocabulary and understanding of grammar and able to construct sentences. Able to use French as part of normal work duties including having conversations with customers and answer questions. This may be tested.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Basic typing skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Must be able to use fax machines, scanners and copiers. Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a member of a team and to be able to treat patients with respect and compassion. Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
